You can select a default setting on the BOM Settings General tab, to calculate weights and save them to the stock record when you save an active BOM. However, if the BOM is a subassembly, weight is not calculated for the higher level BOMs. To ensure that the weight of higher level BOMs is calculated, use the Update Bills of Materials Weights option.
Levels of use are calculated for all BOM records. Weight is calculated for each BOM and written to the stock record. You can cancel this process but this will not undo any changes to stock records that have been updated up to that point.
Also use this option if you have manually amended weights on stock records. This option updates the weight details recorded on all stock records that are in use on a BOMA stock assembly and process costing system, which provides facilities to specify the structure of finished items in terms of sub-assemblies and components. record.
Note: Whilst this option is in use, you and other Sage 200 users cannot make any other changes to BOM records or BOM settings.
Weights held on stock records that are in use on BOM records are calculated and updated.
Open: Bill of Materials > Utilities > Maintenance > Update Bills of Materials Weights.
Note: This option overwrites the existing weight details held on stock records that are in use on BOM records. Weights must be recorded in kilograms, in accordance with HM Revenue & Custom rules for Intrastat submissions.
